Dr Adam Peterson

Adam is a gastroenterologist, hepatologist and endoscopist. He was raised and trained in Gippsland and is proud to be back in the region to provide quality gastroenterology care to local patients. After completing his post graduate medical degree at Monash University in Churchill in 2014, he undertook advanced training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Monash Health and Austin Health including within the Victorian Liver Transplant Unit. He holds a public position at Monash Health and participates regularly in medical education and teaching. Adam has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and after completing a clinical fellowship in IBD at Austin Health is now undertaking a PhD through Monash University evaluating stem cells as a potential therapy. Adam maintains a broad interest and expertise in all aspects of gastroenterology including liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, coeliac disease, and endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy). In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors with his family, cooking American BBQ and, more recently, gardening with limited success.
